Any system that claims to read football matches owes its audience a full explanation. Here is the complete I-Ching football methodology behind the daily 六爻足球卦报.
For each match we cast a hexagram from: the kickoff time (converted to the Chinese calendar's four pillars), the home team name, and the away team name. The casting algorithm follows traditional Liu Yao (六爻) method: the home team occupies the Self line, the away team the Other line.
The hexagram yields a feature vector: the elemental strength difference between Self and Other, the presence and position of the moving line, the six relatives' distribution, the hexagram numbers, the information value (info) of the cast, plus league identity. These are the inputs to the model.
The features feed a Random Forest classifier trained on 37,725 real matches from 2010-2026 across the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Championship and Champions League. Training is walk-forward: each season is predicted using models trained only on earlier seasons, eliminating look-ahead bias.
On out-of-sample validation: single-outcome accuracy 48.6% (baseline 43.9%); double-chance (two-outcome) accuracy 71.0% versus 66.7% random. The edge is real and modest. We do not claim more than the data shows, and we publish monthly performance reviews.
