Four Pillars and Kickoff Time

In I-Ching analysis, time is not neutral — every moment carries a specific energy defined by the Four Pillars (四柱): year, month, day and hour. Four Pillars kickoff time analysis treats the kickoff as the match's 'birth moment'.

The Four Layers

• Year pillar: the season's macro energy — tournament context, cumulative fatigue
• Month pillar: the current cycle — fixture congestion, form waves
• Day pillar: the core balance — the match's fundamental character
• Hour pillar: the opening moment — early tempo, first 15 minutes

Same Teams, Different Hours

Two fixtures between the same clubs on different dates produce different hexagrams — sometimes opposite readings. The day and hour pillars shift the elemental wind. This is why our daily report always shows the pillars for each kickoff, and why late rescheduling (a moved kickoff time) genuinely changes the reading.

Practical Use

For readers, the practical takeaway: check the kickoff time on the match card. A 12:30 kickoff and a 19:45 kickoff are not the same match in I-Ching terms — and the reading will reflect it.
