Eastern Astrology for Football: The Four Pillars Method

Published 2026-08-12 · I-Ching Football Analysis (六爻足球卦报)

Western astrology reads the sky at your birth. Eastern astrology — the Four Pillars (四柱) or BaZi system — reads the hour of any moment, including a football kickoff. In eastern astrology for football, the match itself is 'born' at the referee's whistle.

The Four Pillars of a Match

The Four Pillars are the year, month, day and hour of the kickoff, each carrying a Heavenly Stem (天干) and Earthly Branch (地支):

From the pillars, the analyst derives the day master (日主) and its elemental strength, then compares it with each team's elemental character to read compatibility and friction.

Why Hour Matters

The hour pillar explains why two matches in the same league on the same day can read differently. A 12:30 kickoff and a 17:30 kickoff fall in different branches — different hour animals, different elemental winds. Early kickoffs (丑时/寅时 in Asian markets) carry Wood energy; evening European kickoffs often read Metal or Water.

This sensitivity to time is what makes the Four Pillars method distinct from simple form-based analysis: it treats each match as a unique moment, not a repeat of last week.

Four Pillars in the Daily Report

Each match card in our daily report shows the Four Pillars cast for kickoff time. Compare two matches on the same card — the difference in their pillar energies explains the different hexagrams and tendencies. That is eastern astrology for football, done honestly.
